This organization started in France 50 years ago. Most of the member hotels are family owned, and many have restaurants. The Logis d’Italia site announces, "Since 1993 about 250 hotel-keepers in Italy, Ireland and Belgium have chosen the mark Logis as a guarantee of quality, warm welcome and good cooking for their travellers." These hotels are known to be reliable, economical, and often very charming. One of our friends and his family, while based in Paris for a year, frequently stayed at these hotels, because of their locations in attractive small towns, their reasonable prices, and excellent restaurants. An added benefit was that he and his wife could linger over dessert while their young daughters were close by, playing in their bedroom.
